2 year update!

We turned 2!!

I can't believe we have reached 2 years old! I thought maybe I would give an update of our little girl! We are sure busy at our house!

MJ had her 2 year check-up on Thursday and she made me realize just how old she is getting. She sat all by herself on the little step in the doctors office while Dr. Ripley looked in her eyes, ears, mouth, listened to her heart and tummy. She didn't want to sit on Mommy's lap at all! She also didn't shed a tear when she got her shot or finger pricked, only said, "Mama go bye-bye!"

-Measured in the 16th percentile for weight. (still our little peanut)

-Measured in the 70th percentile for height.

-Loves to climb anything!! Living room furniture, counter tops, chairs, stairs, jungle gyms.

-Has a great arm. Daddy thinks she is going to be a softball player!

-Uses the potty and can put on her clothes, or she tries!! Her new thing is she has to take off her coat and shoes all by herself.

-Is very good at stacking blocks and stringing beads. She also concentrates really hard when writing/coloring. We will say, "write an M for Maddie" and she will try. Sometimes she gets it!

-Loves to copy what you are doing. Our favorite is when she tries to tell you a secret. So cute!! And her facial expressions are so funny!

-She loves going to daycare and all of her friends. When you ask her who she likes to play with she usually picks the boys. "Max and Tate!" We can tell when she has been at home with Mom and dad too much, she gets antsy and forgets to listen!!

-Loves fruit especially strawberries and grapes. Still is our meat eater too. She would pick any kind of protein over a noodle, loves PLAIN BREAD like her daddy though.

-When she sees someone on TV or at a store crying like a baby she gets very concerned. She says "Baby cry. Hug? All better?"

-Loves to go shopping. We went for a Mommy and Maddie trip and she walked around the stores saying, "Mommy buy?" When we pass Target she usually says, "Shoppig?"

-Brushing her teeth is a favorite. I often find her in the bathroom with her toothbrush and the water on.

-Likes going in Grandpa's shed and riding the 4-wheeler and her battery powered Barbie car we bought her last year. She has figured out the peddle, now just needs to figure out how to steer.

-Loves all animals. We just bought a family year long pass to the MN zoo and we are excited to spend lots of time here!

-Gymnastics is her favorite thing to do during the week. she runs around JUMPING everywhere. We also like going swimming at least once a week.

-Every time we see an ambulance or drive by the fire hall it's, "Daddy, wouuuuu, wouuuu!?!" We went for a ride the other day and she almost fell the future!

-Loves going outside. We are excited to spend lots of time on our swing set and at the nearby parks.

She is just a joy right now. (And a little stinker!!) I don't know what I would do without her. She has a mind of her own and she might make me get a few gray hairs with the constent "No's" and having to do things all by herself, but I just keep reminding myself that it is all part of the age!! We cannot wait to see what new adventures we have this year!

Opening gifts!

Her Dora birthday shirt. Grandma sewed a "2" on the front with Dora fabric and Mommy put the letters on the back. And of course...A DORA cake!
